Fish Bowl Cake

My sister threw a goldfish themed party for her boy's one-year-old party. It was so cute! I wish I would have taken more pictures. Here are a few that I did get.
I made a fish bowl cake for most of the guest to eat. It was an 8" double layer white cake with a 6" single layer white cake on the top (to sort of look like the lip of a fish bowl?).
For the smash cake we did a single layer 6" white cake and put a fish on it with a few bubbles.
Here is her cute table setting. She had goldfish, tuna fish sandwiches, clementine oranges, and blue and orange jello jigglers. Watching her one year old experience jello jigglers for the first time was hilarious! He would try and bounce his whole body to get the jello to jiggle. One-year-olds are too fun.

Spaghetti and Meatballs Cupcakes

Spaghetti Cupcakes are easy and fun to make. Simply bake your cupcakes and once they are cool pipe buttercream icing in a bag with a #4 decorating tip. Make it squiggly to look like noodles. To make the meatballs, dip Ferera Rochette chocolate balls in a red jelly or jam. Grate white chocolate on the top to look like parmesan cheese and thats it!

For the original idea check out the Our Best Bites webpage.

Nancy and John's Wedding Cake

This cake was done for my own wedding. I learned that you should never try to make your own wedding cake. It didn't turn out at all the way I wanted it too (maybe I was a bit too stressed the day before to give it my full attention). But it ended up being 4 - 8" double layer rounds on the bottom with a 12" double layer round stacked on that. There is a 8" round on top of the pillars. All layers were iced with buttercream and decorated with a simple border.
